Outline drawn twice
Priced, with a note for the engineerAn exploded polyline lies on top of its original. The contour is counted once.

Laser cutting
A customer uploads a DXF or a flat STEP. The engine reads the contours and prices cutting, pierces, travel and sheet, on your laser's speed table and at your rates. Your engineer approves whatever the safety gates stop.
Example data: S235 3 mm, 6 kW laser, €95/h, sheet €1.30/kg. Head motion in slow motion.
01Quote path
A 1:1 DXF or a flat 3D model. For a DXF the customer states the thickness.
Parts, holes and cutouts. The length of each contour, corners, arc radii.
The machines in your park that cut this material at this thickness, and the cheapest of them.
Cutting, pierces, travel. Sheet per part, sheets per order.
Small holes, narrow webs, notes from the DXF, a thickness you do not stock, the amount threshold.
Price at onceTo the engineerApproves or corrects the price. An approved price joins the sheet-cutting calibration list.
The customer sees the net amount, the sheet thickness and the ISO 9013 edge, and can order.
You set the mode of the safety gates under Quoting rules. A new account starts by reviewing every quote.
02DXF file
An export from CAD or CAM is rarely clean. This is what the reader does with what your customers send.
An exploded polyline lies on top of its original. The contour is counted once.
The engineer seesContours drawn twice in the DXF were counted once.
Each drawing is a DXF file read by the same reader that prices your quotes.
03Time
Every hole is a pierce, a move and a cut slower than on a straight line. Holes add laser time while the part gets lighter.
6.9 × the time with no perforation, 5% less mass
Example data: 20 pcs, S235 3 mm, 6 kW laser. Head in slow motion.
04Sheet
You choose how it is charged in the price list. Your engineer can change it for one quote.
Sheet charged per part
The part's smallest rectangle, the gap to its neighbour and a share for the skeleton and the remnant.
Charged per part: 510 cm²
Example data: bracket 262 × 172 mm, S235 3 mm, sheet 3000 × 1500 mm.
05Edge
A cut part carries an ISO 9013 designation on the offer, with the figures for its thickness. The designation does not change the price.
Deviation of the 262 mm dimension
Cut quality: ISO 9013-221: perpendicularity u ≤ 0.171 mm, Rz5 ≤ 42 µm, dimensions ±0.25 mm; not at the start and end of a cut, small radii and sharp corners
Figures from ISO 9013:2017. The drawing is exaggerated: the angle and the striations are not to scale.
06Process
Where your park can do both, the customer chooses. Nothing is preselected, and with no choice there is no price.
How it is made
Choose how the part is made
Example data: 20 pcs, S235 3 mm. A 3-axis mill and a 6 kW laser in one park.
07Panel
The layout the price assumes, the free places and the gaps. The part drawn from its own file.
The price list's format, another format of the material or the size of a remnant.
Cutting, pierces and travel apart, with the gas and the speed from the table.
The ISO 9013 designation, u, Rz5 and the deviation of this part.

Approved cutting prices fit cutting only. A plate milled in the same shop stays on the machining list. The minimum is 5 quotes.

08Machines
Picking a model copies what its maker publishes: the bed, the power, the thickest sheets, the rapid speed, the acceleration and the speed table, if there is one.
Power decides the thicknesses, and a thicker sheet is not priced, whatever the speed table says.

Max. thickness by maker [mm]
The maker's data. Maker names are used only to identify the machine - MetronQ is not affiliated with any maker.
Copy the default table and type your own values. A table you type replaces the default entirely.

Empty: the default table of a fiber laser of this power is used.
09Questions
No. A model of a bent part is refused with the reason bent_sheet_part. A DXF with bend lines is priced flat, with a note for the engineer, and the price holds no bending.
No. The customer is asked to export the part as a 1:1 DXF. A DXF outline is then priced the way a STEP file is.
No. The price assumes the part's rectangles or pairs of parts on the sheet, with a gap and a margin. A nest from a CAM program usually fits more, and that margin stays with the shop. Real nesting takes minutes and does not fit an instant quote.
A fiber laser with an empty table cuts by the default table of its power, built from published data. These are starting values. Where a maker publishes a table, picking the model from the catalogue copies it. You type your own values after copying the default table.
A flat part in the widget: the customer chooses the process when your park has both. In the panel and through the API a quote is cut until somebody chooses otherwise; with a live integration the panel tells you so. Parts a laser cannot cut are priced as before.
Yes. A material lists the formats you buy, and your engineer can name another format for one quote or type the size of a remnant. Stock levels do not enter the price.
No. The customer sees the net price, the sheet thickness, the ISO 9013 edge, threads and countersinks. The nest, the cost breakdown and the reasons a quote was stopped are for the shop alone.
A machine can be a CO2 laser, but it has no default table: it cuts only what you type into its speed table.
A new account starts by reviewing every quote, so you see the nest, the time and the price before anything reaches a customer.
