Pricing calibration
The most important step: fitting the model to your real prices.
Calibration compares the price the engine computes with the price you actually quoted, and fits a rate multiplier and a setup time so the model lands on your numbers. That is the difference between a generic price list and yours.
How to calibrate
- 1Collect 8 to 12 historical parts with the net prices a customer really accepted - for 1 pc, and if you have them, for 10 pcs as well.
- 2Upload the STEP or IGES files in the Calibration tab and type in the prices. These parts do not consume your monthly quote allowance.
- 3Click „Calibrate pricing”. The minimum is 2 parts, or 1 part priced at both 1 and 10 pcs, but a larger and more varied set gives a steadier result.
- 4The result is saved as the calibration multiplier and setup time in Pricing. We do not show our own figures beforehand, so your prices stay objective.
Learning from your adjustments
Calibration does not end at setup. The „Accuracy vs your adjustments” card shows how far the engine sits from the prices you approve on average: a positive deviation means it quotes higher than you do. The next fit is one click away once a few adjustments have accumulated.
The more varied the calibration parts (small and large, simple and milled from several sides, aluminium and steel), the steadier the result. Ten variations of the same plate teach the model nothing new.
