Oroox
An online sales platform for manufacturers: instant quoting, a customer portal and a B2B storefront, orders, payments, shipping and production preparation in one system.
Comparison
Both let a shop's customer upload a file and get a quote, but they differ in scope and in how they are billed. Here are the facts from both companies' public material.
01Differences
What changes a shop's day-to-day work the most - described from both companies' own material.
Oroox
An online sales platform for manufacturers: instant quoting, a customer portal and a B2B storefront, orders, payments, shipping and production preparation in one system.
MetronQ
Quoting for milling and turning only, with no storefront or payments: the customer uploads a file on the shop's website, the engine prices it on the shop's machines and rates, with the price list calibrated on the shop's past prices, and a technologist approves whatever the shop does not want sent automatically. No annual contract.
Oroox combines instant quoting with a B2B storefront, a customer portal, online payments, shipping and production preparation. MetronQ focuses on quoting: a configurator on the shop's website, a panel and orders, without online payments.
Oroox covers sheet metal, profiles and tubes, CNC machining and additive, and turns DXF drawings into 3D models. MetronQ quotes milling and turning from STEP, IGES and DXF contours.
Oroox plans start at €594 a month with a minimum term of 12 months. MetronQ can be paid per quote or by monthly subscription, with no annual contract.
02Table
Every fact about the other product has its source at the bottom of the page.
| Area | MetronQ | Oroox |
|---|---|---|
| Product | ||
| What it is | Software for CNC machining quotes only: a configurator on the shop's website (a widget or a hosted page) and a panel for quotes and orders. No storefront, payments or shipping. | An online sales platform for manufacturers (the Manufacturing Commerce Cloud): instant quoting, a B2B storefront and customer portal, orders, CRM, payments, shipping and production preparation. Oroox AG of Ruggell (Liechtenstein). |
| How a quote is made | The customer uploads a file and gets a price calculated on the shop's machines and rates, with the price list calibrated on the shop's past prices - at once, or after a technologist approves it, depending on the gates. The same engine prices files the shop uploads itself in the panel. | The customer uploads a 3D CAD part and instantly receives a detailed quote: the platform analyses the geometry, detects features, runs manufacturability (DFM) checks and applies predefined manufacturing rules. A separate variant serves internal quoting by a sales team. |
| For the shop's customer | A widget embedded in the shop's existing website with one line of code, or a hosted page with the shop's logo; the customer sees the 3D model and the unit price at 1, 5, 10, 25 and 100 pieces. | A white-label customer portal and a B2B storefront; on the Growth plan also a custom domain and a storefront in several languages. |
| Quoting | ||
| Processes | Machining only: milling and turning, including mill-turn centres; assemblies in a single STEP file. No industry packages. | Sheet metal (laser cutting, bending), profiles and tubes, CNC machining (milling, turning), additive. Starter and Growth include one industry package, each further one is billed separately; Enterprise includes several. |
| Files | STEP and IGES for parts and assemblies, DXF contours, PDF drawings and photos of drawings. | STEP, DXF and STL, for single parts and assemblies; a converter from DXF drawings to 3D STEP models. |
| Quote output | A price with its cost breakdown (material, machine time, setup, programming), the machine and the blank chosen, a PDF quote in the shop's brand and an online quote link with an access code. | A quote with prices, lead times and production options; 2D and 3D nesting, a rule engine, and on the Growth plan an AI Engineering Advisor. |
| Integrations and data | ||
| Integrations | A REST API on the Enterprise plan - sending files for quoting, reading the quote, price-list sync and order statuses from the ERP; no webhooks. Price-list import and export (CSV / JSON) on every plan. | An open REST API and webhooks; integrations with ERP, MES, CRM, accounting and CAD/CAM. Full API access on the Growth plan, read-only integration on Starter. |
| Customer payments | No online payment - the order arrives in the panel with a notification, and settling with the customer stays with the shop. | Online payment integration in the portal and the storefront, already on the Starter plan (in the self-service and e-commerce variants). |
| Languages and currencies | Configurator and panel in Polish, English, German and Chinese, and quotes in any currency, on every plan. | A storefront in several languages and multiple currencies on the Growth plan. |
