CNC quoting widget

A CNC quoting widget on your website. It answers before you open your inbox.

One line in your site's code and an enquiry stops being an e-mail with an attachment. The engine reads the geometry from a model or a drawing and prices it on your machines and rates, and you decide which figure goes to the customer on its own and which waits for your approval.

01Benefits

What changes when quoting lives on your website

Four moments from a shop's week. Today each of them costs an hour of e-mails; with the widget it costs a click.

Sunday, 23:47

An enquiry does not wait until Monday

A buyer compares several shops at once and writes when they have time, which is often late in the evening. The widget answers straight away: the model is read, the price is worked out, and on Monday morning your dashboard holds a finished item instead of an empty e-mail.

  • Works at night, at weekends and on holidays
  • The buyer sees a price at once, or knows when it will come
  • You start the day with a decision, not with arithmetic

Instead of "please quote"

The enquiry arrives already priced

An e-mail with an attachment and one sentence is the start of five more: which material, how many, what tolerances, any threads, by when. In the widget the customer answers all of that, and the engine adds everything that can be measured from the solid.

  • File, material, quantity, tolerances and lead time in one place
  • Holes, threads and the thinnest wall measured from the model
  • The customer's contact on the quote, not in a separate e-mail

The safety gate

You keep the last word

You decide what goes to the customer automatically and what waits for approval: a value threshold, a complexity threshold, or approval of every quote. A casting, a weldment, a catalogue part, a part bigger than your machines and every quote made from a drawing always stop.

  • By default no price leaves without your approval
  • A held quote shows the figure that held it
  • Every correction you make teaches the engine your prices

From offer to production

The customer orders without an e-mail or a call

From the link in the message the customer moves on to the order, gives a delivery address and confirms. The order lands in the panel, and the confirmation and the shipping notice go to the customer by e-mail as soon as you change the status.

  • No online payment - you settle with the customer your own way
  • Statuses: new, confirmed, in production, shipped
  • A PDF offer in your colours, ready to send

02The route

From a file to an order in seven stops

The same process seen from two sides. Switch to see what your customer sees at each stop, and what you see.

  1. File

Picks a 3D model or a drawing on your website. No account, no e-mail with an attachment.

    STEP · IGES · DXF · PDF · photo
  2. Geometry read

Sees the part in 3D: turns it, measures it and clicks a hole to confirm a thread.

in the background, while they choose
  3. Parameters

Chooses a material from your list, quantity, tolerances, roughness, finishing and lead time.

    ISO 2768 · ISO 286 · Ra
  4. Price

The chosen parameters turn into a net and gross price, lead time, delivery cost and prices for other quantities.

    your price list, not ours
  5. Gate

Gets the price at once, or a note that the quote went to an engineer.

    at oncefor approval
  6. for approval: Offer

Once approved, gets an e-mail with a link and a four-digit code, and can reopen the quote on any device.

    permanent link + access code
  7. Order

Moves on to the order, gives a delivery address and confirms. No online payment.

    settled your way

Every stop on the shop's side runs without you, except one: the decision at the gate, if you leave it there.

04Your brand

It looks like part of your website, because it is

Logo, colour and languages are set once, in the panel. The address in your customer's browser does not change.

The widget takes the logo and the primary colour from the shop's settings: buttons, selections and accents are in your colour from the first view. A small "Powered by MetronQ" stays in the footer, and everything else is yours.

Would you rather not touch your website? You get a ready quoting page at your own address on quoting.metronq.com. Same engine, same look, and a link to put in your e-mail signature or your business profile on Google.

Logo and colour

Your logo in the header, your colour on buttons and accents. A change in the panel applies at once.

Four languages

Polish, English, German and Chinese. Switch on only the ones you can answer an enquiry in.

Hosted page

A ready quoting page with your name in the address, for when there is nowhere to embed the widget.

The customer's language in every message

Customers get e-mails and the PDF offer in the language they quoted in, whatever language your panel is in.

Daily limit

You decide how many quotes a day the widget accepts. Past that it takes no new files until midnight.

No account for the customer

No sign-up, no password. The price shows at once, and the customer leaves an e-mail only when they want to.

05Under the hood

How it works, and what protects your files

For whoever looks after your website: what to paste, what happens after it is pasted, and what guards your customers' files and your quote budget.

One line, pasted where the quote should appear

The script puts a frame with the widget in that spot and sizes it to its content, so no second scroll bar appears on your page. It works anywhere a piece of HTML can be pasted, WordPress included.

src
the loader script, a few kilobytes, served by us
data-metronq-key
the shop's public key. It is public by design and opens nothing by itself
data-lang
optional: the language on this page, such as de on the German version of your site
data-target
optional: the element the widget should appear in
async
the page keeps loading without waiting for the widget
HTML
<script src="https://widget.metronq.com/metronq.js"
        data-metronq-key="pk_your_key"
        data-lang="en"
        async></script>

What happens when a customer picks a file

Seven steps between the customer's browser and your panel. The file passes through neither the application server nor any outside service.

  1. Your website Widget

The script inserts the widget's frame. Your page passes us nothing else.

  2. Widget MetronQ API

The widget presents the public key and the address of the page it is on. An address not on the allowed list is refused.

  3. MetronQ API Widget

With the limits checked, the widget gets a one-time signed address for uploading this one file.

  4. Widget File storage

The file goes straight to storage in the EU, over HTTPS, encrypted with its own AES-256 key.

  5. File storage Engine

The engine reads it in an isolated container with no privileges and a read-only file system.

  6. Engine MetronQ API

Back come the geometry readout and the 3D preview. Your price list sets the price, and the gate decides what next.

  7. MetronQ API Widget

The customer sees the price or a note about approval, and the quote lands in your panel.

Eight safeguards that work without you

Some protect your customers' files, some protect your quote budget. None has to be switched on.

Allowed domains

The widget runs only on the sites you list in the settings. Anywhere else it is refused.

your domains

Daily quote limit

You decide how many files a day the configurator accepts. The limit resets at midnight.

50 a day by default

Limits per address and per shop

One IP address gets 15 files per 10 minutes. If the limit service is down, uploads stop rather than open up.

15 per 10 minutes

Encrypted files

Every file has its own AES-256 key. The storage provider does not hold it, so it cannot read a file even with the disk in hand.

AES-256

No outside AI

Geometry analysis and drawing reading run on our own servers. We send no files to artificial-intelligence providers.

our servers only

A link with an access code

The permanent quote link opens only with the four-digit code from the e-mail, and attempts are limited.

4 digits + attempt cap

Encrypted contact details

Name, company, e-mail, phone and address from orders are encrypted before they reach the database.

AES-256-GCM

Files do not stay forever

A file from a quote that never became an order is deleted after 90 days, an abandoned upload after six hours.

90 days

The domain list guards against the widget being embedded on somebody else's site by accident. Against deliberate misuse stand the limits, which do not depend on what a request claims about itself - which is why both sit in one place, in the widget settings.

06Questions

Common questions about the widget

Does my customer need an account?

No. They pick a file and the parameters and see the price at once. They leave an e-mail only when they want the quote in their inbox, when the quote waits for your approval, or when they order.

What files does the widget accept?

STEP, STP, IGES and IGS models, PDF and DXF drawings, and photos or scans of a drawing (JPG, PNG, TIFF, WEBP), up to 50 MB. A 3D model is priced automatically; a quote made from a drawing always waits for your approval.

Can I approve every price before it is sent?

Yes, and that is the default. In the quoting rules you choose the mode: approve every quote, approve above a value or complexity threshold, or price at once. Unusual parts stop in every mode.

Will the widget slow my website down?

It should not. The loader is a few kilobytes and loads asynchronously, and the frame loads only when the customer scrolls to it. The geometry is analysed on our servers, not in the customer's browser.

What if somebody floods the widget with files?

The daily limit you set yourself stops it, together with the limits per IP address and per shop, which changing a header does not get around. Files over the limit are refused before anything is worked out.

What languages does the widget speak?

Polish, English, German and Chinese. Your own language is always on; you switch the others on in the settings. Customers get e-mails and the PDF offer in the language they quoted in.

I have no website. Does it still make sense?

Yes. Every shop gets a ready quoting page on quoting.metronq.com, with its own name and in its own colours. Put the link in your e-mail signature, on a business card or in your business profile on Google.

Will the customer see that it is MetronQ?

Only in a small "Powered by MetronQ" in the widget's footer. The logo, colour and shop name in the widget, and the PDF offer, are yours.

Paste one line. The engine prices the rest.

The widget and the hosted page are in every plan. 14 days free, no card.
