Documentation/Pricing setup
Rates, times and quality
The Quoting rules tab is the control room for your price.
How Quoting rules is laid out
- Materials and Machines: what you work with.
- Finishing: your dictionary of external operations and subcontracting.
- Prices and margin: the commercial parameters.
- Operation times: the unit times the machining model is built from.
- Quality classes: the multipliers for tightened requirements.
- Safety gates: when a quote waits for a human (covered on its own page).
Prices and margin
A percentage margin on top of manufacturing cost, the VAT rate, a minimum order value, a small-batch multiplier with its quantity threshold, tooling cost per batch and lead times: standard and express with a percentage surcharge. Delivery is added to the order total - parcel or pallet, by the batch's mass and size. This is also where you see the calibration multiplier that the Calibration tab sets for you.
Operation times
Setup time per fixturing, CAM programming per batch, tapping (per thread and per millimetre of depth), external threading, hole fits, per-surface tolerances, the finishing rate in cm² per minute, the bounding-block allowance, and the batch effect: how much faster roughing gets at higher quantities.
Quality classes
Multipliers raise machining time for tightened requirements: ISO 2768-1 (dimensions) and ISO 2768-2 (form and position) tolerance classes, Ra roughness, ISO 286 hole fits (H6 to H9) and the tolerances of individual surfaces the customer picks on the 3D model. Leave the standard classes (m, K, Ra 3,2) at 1,0: a multiplier only bites when the customer chooses something tighter.
Subcontracted operations
Anodising, zinc plating, hardening, a CMM report and any other external operation lives in your own dictionary: cost by mass, by area or fixed per batch, plus its effect on the lead time. The customer picks them in the configurator as finishing options, and their days are added to the delivery date.
Every field carries a hint explaining what it does to the price. When in doubt, leave the default and come back to it after calibration.
