Safety gates
You decide what goes out automatically and what waits for your approval.
Modes
The mode lives in Pricing, in the Safety gates section: instant price, review above a threshold (amount or complexity), review every quote, or TBD mode, where the customer always gets a „this quote needs confirmation” answer.
Unusual parts
Whatever the mode, some parts always stop for a human: a probable casting or weldment, a catalogue part (a bearing, a screw, a seal), a part outside your machines' work envelope, and one the model prices at an implausible machining time. The customer then sees a request to get in touch instead of a price.
Risk signals escalate an instant quote to review: thin walls, deep holes, a slender part, an external thread, skewed access and undercuts that call for multi-axis work. You set the thin-wall and slenderness thresholds yourself, next to the amount and complexity thresholds.
A quote made from a drawing (PDF, scan, photo or DXF) never goes out automatically. A solid rebuilt from a drawing is a view of the part, not a measurement, so such a quote always waits for your confirmation.
Quotes waiting for you sit in the Quotes tab under the Needs review filter, and the count of new ones shows in the sidebar, on the Dashboard and in the notification bell.
