Education Account Rules

How the free MetronQ education accounts work - the accounts lecturers and students open under an education licence for university courses.

Last updated: 25.09.2026

Tip

This English translation is provided for convenience only. The Polish version of these rules is the legally binding one.

1. General provisions

  • These rules govern the use of MetronQ education accounts. The service is operated by Marcin Łętowski, trading as Warsaw Residential Group Marcin Łętowski, ul. Grafitowa 5, 62-504 Posoka, Poland, NIP 6653065982, REGON 528314936 (the "Operator"). Contact: contact@metronq.com.
  • Education Account - an account in the MetronQ service opened through the registration link of an education licence the Operator has granted to a university lecturer (the "Licence").
  • User - the person who opened an Education Account: the lecturer or a participant in the course.
  • These rules are the terms of electronically supplied services within the meaning of Art. 8 of the Polish Act on Providing Services by Electronic Means. The metronq.com Terms of Service, which are for businesses, do not apply to Education Accounts.
  • An Education Account is free of charge.

2. Opening an account and forming the contract

  • An Education Account can only be opened through the registration link the lecturer hands out. A course participant uses an e-mail address in the university domain named in the Licence (or a subdomain of it); the lecturer uses the address named in the Licence.
  • An e-mail address and a password are all that is needed, together with acceptance of these rules and the Privacy Policy.
  • The contract is formed when the e-mail address is confirmed by clicking the link in the message sent after registration. Until then the account does not work, and a registration not confirmed within 7 days expires and is deleted.
  • Every account is for one person. The number of accounts under a Licence is limited; once it is used up, registration is closed.
  • The User does not share their sign-in details and keeps them confidential. The account can additionally be protected with two-step verification.

3. Scope of the service and limits

  • An Education Account gives access to the full functionality of the service - the panel, the widget, the quoting page and the API - except the referral programme and the purchase of plans.
  • Every account runs under these limits: up to 20 quotes a day and up to 200 quotes a calendar month, and up to 10 API requests a minute and up to 500 API requests a day. Every quote counts towards the quote limits, however it was made - in the panel, in the widget or on the account's quoting page.
  • Daily limits reset at midnight Polish time and monthly limits on the first day of the month. The account's current limits are shown in the panel, under Licence.
  • At the lecturer's justified request, in particular for a thesis, the Operator may temporarily raise the limits of a given account.
  • Analyses of files from Education Accounts may be processed at a lower priority than those of commercial users.

4. Rules of use

  • An Education Account serves teaching purposes only: classes, exercises and projects, and coursework and theses supervised by the lecturer.
  • It is not permitted to: (a) prepare quotes or offers for commercial purposes, including for any business; (b) share the account with anybody else; (c) copy or decompile the service's code, circumvent its security or limits, or use the service to build a competing product; (d) extract data automatically other than through the API and within its limits; (e) supply unlawful content.
  • Only teaching models, or models the User is entitled to use, are uploaded. Files that are a third party's trade secret are not.
  • No personal data of third persons is entered; customer details in quotes and orders are fictitious.
  • Quotes from Education Accounts are estimates made for teaching and are not offers. The quoting page, the widget and the quote PDF are marked accordingly.

5. Theses and publications

The User may use the service, including the quoting engine, in coursework, bachelor's and master's theses and in scientific publications - in particular to present how the service is used, analyse and compare the quotes obtained, and publish their results and screenshots, naming MetronQ as the source. The permission to publish results obtained while the Licence was in force does not expire when it ends. The Operator is not obliged to disclose information about the design and workings of the quoting engine beyond what is available in the service and its documentation.

6. Files and Technical Data

  • Files uploaded to the account serve only to produce quotes and handle orders, and are not shared with third parties.
  • The file of a quote that was not ordered is kept for no longer than 90 days from upload; the file of a quote that was ordered is kept for as long as the Licence is in force or until the User deletes that quote.
  • Once a file is deleted, the Operator keeps only the numerical and classification data derived from its analysis - such as overall dimensions, volume, the number and type of recognised machining features, machining time and price - from which the model's geometry cannot be reconstructed ("Technical Data"). Technical Data stays in the account's quote history until the account is deleted, and the Operator may use it, unlinked from the User, to test, calibrate and develop the quoting engine, also after the account is deleted.

7. Personal data

The Operator is the controller of Users' personal data. The Operator processes the User's e-mail address, technical data connected with using the service - including the IP address, device and browser information and the sign-in history - and any other data the User chooses to provide, to provide the service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and to keep the service secure and develop it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The details, including the User's rights, are set out in the Privacy Policy at metronq.com.

8. Technical requirements

Using the account requires internet access, a current browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) with JavaScript and cookies enabled, and a working e-mail account. The 3D model preview requires WebGL.

9. Nature of the service and liability

  • An Education Account is provided free of charge and as is. The Operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service or any particular accuracy of quotes.
  • The Operator may suspend access to an account used in breach of these rules, informing the lecturer.
  • Nothing in these rules excludes or limits the rights a User who is a consumer has under mandatory provisions of law.

10. Complaints

Complaints about how the service works can be sent to contact@metronq.com, describing the problem and giving the account's e-mail address. The Operator responds within 14 days of receiving a complaint.

11. Feedback and suggestions

The User may send the Operator comments and suggestions about the service. They are given free of charge, and the Operator may use them without restriction, including to develop the service, with no obligation to pay for them or to name their author.

12. Closing an account

  • The User may stop using the account at any time and ask for it to be deleted by writing to contact@metronq.com from the account's e-mail address.
  • A User who is a consumer may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of forming it, without giving a reason, by a statement sent to contact@metronq.com. Withdrawal results in the account being deleted.
  • Education Accounts work for as long as the Licence is in force. Once it ends, no new quotes can be made in them, and within 30 days the Operator deletes the accounts together with their files, subject to the Technical Data as described in section 6.

13. Final provisions

  • The Operator may change these rules, including the limits in section 3, informing Users in the panel or by e-mail at least 7 days before the change takes effect. A User who does not accept the change may ask for the account to be deleted before it takes effect.
  • Matters not governed here are governed by Polish law. These rules do not limit a consumer's rights under mandatory provisions, including the right to bring claims before the competent court.
  • The current version of these rules applies from the day it is published and is available at metronq.com/en/docs/education-account-rules. The Polish version at metronq.com/docs/regulamin-konta-edukacyjnego is the legally binding one.
